This one is a build up on a post I wrote earlier about what keeps a man with you.
But now you already have the man, and you’re wondering what still keeps you on his mind when you’re not there.
Think of it as a follow-up, and you can read it here.
More than wanting a man to fall in love with you, or wanting to stay on his mind, there’s the part where he thinks about you when you’re not around, the things that make you memorable to him.
That’s what this one is about.
6 Feminine Habits That Make Him Think About You When You’re Not There
1. You Have A Signature Scent And A Signature Goodbye

When you’re in the active dating phase, how you leave matters more than how you arrive.
If you’re always leaving him with arguments or misunderstandings, what he’ll remember when you go is that your absence gives him a peace he doesn’t have while you’re around.
You want him to remember something sweeter.
Start with your scent.
Personally, I can’t say I have just one fragrance, because I’m a fragrance lover and I have a lot of them.
But there’s probably one fragrance he has told you he loves on you, so make that your signature whenever you’re going to see him.
My husband loves one particular fragrance on me, with a cinnamon base note, and it was custom-made for me.
That’s the one I wear when I want to set the mood, which is almost all the time anyway, because it says what I want without me saying too much.
Then there’s the signature goodbye.
It might be a little note under his pillow, or towel art like they do in hotels, left on his bed.
It could be his favourite dish or a snack you leave in his pantry or on his dining table.
Even after he eats the snack, the act will stay in his memory.
2. You Listen Like What He Says Actually Matters
This one is quite dicey, because when a man is talking, there’s a temptation to jump in with a response.
You need to read the room and understand that you don’t have to plan your reply.
What you should do is listen and actually hear him.
I was very guilty of this for a long time, because I always had an opinion ready and something to chip in.
You can make him feel carried along without responding to everything he says.
A nod, eye contact, and the occasional “go on” will tell him you’re with him.
When you listen like that, he feels loved and appreciated, and he knows he’s being heard.
A lot of men get responses all day and very little real listening.
At work, people want answers from him, and at home, he might be used to being interrupted or corrected before he’s even finished.
So when he finds a woman who lets him talk until he’s done, he remembers her.
He’ll think about you later in the day, when he has something on his mind and wants to tell the one person who actually listens.
Save your opinion for when he asks for it, and let him finish first.
3. You Compliment Him In Front Of Others Without Embarrassing Him

I embarrassed my husband once, during our wedding planning, and it took a lot for me to forgive myself for it.
Till date, I still feel embarrassed thinking about it.
So don’t be like me.
Don’t embarrass your man in front of other people.
Instead, compliment him in a sweet, loving way when others are around.
I don’t mean a backhanded compliment that’s really a joke at his expense.
I mean a genuine one, like telling his friends how he handled a problem at work or how well he takes care of you.
I’m not saying you should do anything staged or fake either.
Public affirmation works because it feels real.
When he remembers it later, it stays on his mind for a long time, because it shows him you’re a woman who is proud to be associated with him.
It tells him you genuinely appreciate what the two of you have, and you’re not shy or ashamed of him.
Most men will never ask for this, but they notice it every single time.
Say the good things out loud where people can hear them, and keep the corrections for when you’re alone.
4. You Have A Soft Morning Ritual That Doesn’t Involve Your Phone
I’m a bit guilty of this one, because almost everything I do revolves around my phone and my gadgets.
I’m either monitoring a trend or checking statistics, and before I know it, I’ve been on my phone for a long time.
I’m trying to strike a balance, and I’m still a work in progress in this area.
What I’m saying is that you should have a soft morning ritual that involves both of you before you go your separate ways for the day.
It could be tea together or a few minutes talking in bed before anyone reaches for a phone.
The last moments before you part set the tone for his day, and they’re what he carries out the door with him.
If you only see each other occasionally, it’s wise to clear your schedule for that time so you can actually savour it.
When those mornings feel calm and connected, he starts to look forward to them.
You stay on his mind as the woman who brings stability and peace into his life, and that’s a beautiful thing to build on.
Your phone will still be there in twenty minutes.
Give him the first part of the day, and he’ll think about you for the rest of it.
5. You Touch Him With Intention

There’s a difference between touching your man intentionally and touching him out of habit.
I’m an intentional toucher, and I can also be a very goofy one, tickling him just to get a reaction.
Both have their place, but intentional touch is the one that stays with him.
Intentional touch means you’re fully present when you do it.
It’s a hand on his back as you walk past him in the kitchen, or a squeeze of his hand when he’s nervous around your family.
It’s touching his arm while he’s telling you a story, so he knows you’re with him.
I’m not talking about being clingy or hanging on to him all the time.
Touch that happens constantly without thought becomes background, and he stops noticing it.
Touch with meaning gets noticed, because it tells him you chose that moment to reach for him.
Put your phone down when you do it, and look at him.
Later in the day, he’ll remember the way your hand felt on his shoulder and smile without knowing why.
Make your touch say something, and he’ll keep thinking about what it said.
6. You Leave Something Unfinished On Purpose

Another way to stay on your man’s mind is to leave something unfinished on purpose.
It could be a story you start but save the ending for next time.
It could be a place you’ve said you’ll take him, like your favourite spot as a child or the restaurant you go to when you need to take some pressure off your neck.
It could be a meal you’ve promised to cook him.
All of these give him something to look forward to, especially if it’s something that also interests him.
It keeps his brain in the loop, and he starts thinking about the things the two of you will do together.
My husband and I are planning to try a pottery experience, and honestly, I genuinely look forward to it.
I’ve never done it before, and I keep thinking about it because I get to experience it with him, and he’s my favourite person.
That’s the feeling you want him to have about you.
Don’t tell him every story in one night or hand him every plan at once.
Leave a little something for next time, and he’ll be counting down to it.
None of these habits need a big budget or a big personality.
They’re small things you do with care, and men remember care long after the moment has passed.
Pick one and start with it this week.
Every time you leave, leave him something to miss.
